Work samples are below. Feel free to read my IMDB here or download my resume.
The Vice Guide to Everything
I field produced and shot six segments for MTV’s the Vice Guide to Everything. We got shaken down by the Russian mob, and Palestinian car thieves. We snuck into an arms fair in Jordan, raced reindeer in Norway; lived with a Korean boyband in Seoul and met a woman who nursed a chimpanzee like her own child. Watch a sample of my work below or check out the show site for some full episodes.
Punk Jews
When taking on a film about religion we didn’t want to follow the same beaten path as every other documentary about Judaism – so instead of talking to Rabbis we spoke with punkers, metal heads, artists, and activists. What we found was an energetic and growing subculture of Jewish punk rebels fighting to not only redefine their own Judaism, but religion its self – through art, politics, music, and fashion. Punk Jews tells their stories. Punk Jews is currently in post production. Watch our trailer below.
A Different Story
A documentary about two brothers, Nick and Zack, who at the same age drop out of high school. Nick goes on to become one of the youngest poker champions in history, while the Zack signs a major label contact for his band. Zack’s band breaks up, and Nick takes Zack on the road to rekindle his love for music. It’s a film about brotherhood, songwriting, and what it takes to live your dream. The film is in post now and we will have a trailer soon. In the meantime you can listen to some of Zack’s music on his website.
My First Time
One of my favorite projects ever was producing MFT for NBC. The show highlighted regular people doing extraordinary things for the first time. We covered the Tribeca Film Festival, New York City Marathon, and the Obama Inauguration. We won an Emmy for our special on the summer games that was seen by about five and a half million people.
1st Look NY
A lifestyle and entertainment show produced for NBC local media. One show I got to produce a segment with avante guarde legend John Zorn. It was awesome. Here are some outtakes.
Splitting Hairs
I co-produced the story about Americans attempting to overthrow the German champions in the world of international competitive facial hair growing.
